It is really really beautiful, cheers from Sweden!
This fish is next on my list to get. They are such a neat fish 👍👍👍
Wow awesome!! I thought this species only had big black blotches, i love the bright red in the variety you have!! I noticed Ed's Aquatics has 2 variants for sale, but I am going to ACA this week, so I do not want to get n then leave town. I will buy once I return unless I find in Cincy! This is my top 5 videos from you!!!
Thanks Rockingfish! Have fun at the ACA!
@@FishTankBarn ok wishing you could go!
@@drockingfish unfortunately not in cards.
They are great fish. Im more of a fan of the xenotoca lyonsi. Their multi color just stands out more. But love the skiffias too
I really enjoy mine. I like the Doadroi a little better than the lyonsi and eisen but they are all pretty similisr
I've been working with S. multipunctata (specifically the 'Tangancicuaro' location) for a couple seasons, and decided to put some outdoors in one of my 75g summer tubs. So far they've been excellent tub fish, very active/visible and the outdoor fry grow much faster than those kept inside. If you've been had trouble with fry production I'd definitely recommend experimenting with them outside.
Thanks for the advice. I will put them on the list for tubs for next year.
These are real nice fish. I have never kept this species. I worry that I couldn't keep the tank within the temps they like. Yours are real hearty looking!
Thanks Audra I think if you keep them at the bottom of rack with no heater you would be ok
Chichlids need opposite water parameters than swordtails actually
I have cichlids and swords in the same water for 6 years now with now issues
Flagfish 🎉
Thanks for commenting
Very nice store 👍👍👍
Thanks Skull, I really thought it was a nice store
Are you bringing any fish to ACA?
Unfortunately I won’t be making it to the ACA
@@FishTankBarn bummer i thought for sure you would since it is so close of a drive for you!
What a nice place. Hmmm. Medina. I think not far from me( Checked - 2.5 hours.) Those small tanks are very cool. Are you going to do more with salt again?
Thanks Carole! All of the stores that I have done recently are all near Medina. I probably won’t do more with salt. Some of the stores that we visited had salt so I decided to include it in the video
Duckweed sale!! 😁
Yep
Bumblee bee cichlid are super aggressive over 2yrs mine has killed probably a dozen of my fish
I am pretty sure I didn’t recommend bumblebee cichlids in this video. Species like purple acei and yellow labs are much less aggressive
Yeah you did that's why I commented on it. Confirming you are correct sir.
@@2ssrs950 no worries.
🤗
Thanks
Wow them are beautiful. I wish I could find some like that. Thanks for sharing
Your welcome. I almost went home with them
The girls are colorful and the boy's tails aren't outrageously big!
Thanks Dan. Those were really colorful and very nice fish
Since you said that tiger barbs will nip on the fins, will cherry barbs do the same?
Cherry barbs aren’t nearly as bad.
Great Video!!!
Thanks!
you should find someone who has extra water lettuce that will help give you some cover for those tubs.... when they flower i hear that is extra points for you clubs HAP program too...
Yeah maybe
Beautiful fish
Thanks Mark, there were a lot of beautiful fish there.
This year I have xenotoca eiseni, variatus platy, staeck, and lime green endlers, Platinum rice fish and the obligatory white cloud minnows in tubs. Also 3 tubs of various mixed or mutt guppy variations. Happy tubbing!
Nice. Sounds like a good mix of fish
My Orange Rice Fish are breeding in outdoor tub like crazy!!
Nice!
Thanks for sharing, Mike! I’ve got one tub out in the backyard. Hoping to see some fry soon.
Your welcome! Good luck with your tub. Hopefully you will have tons of fry
Two reasons why your plants are struggling: A. green water tends to out compete all but the hardiest submerged plants. B. Even really powerful aquarium lighting is weak compared to sunlight. Plants brought out from inside are often shocked for a period by the light, and I've even have them fully bleach out and die off. I've had some luck putting indoor plants in a container on a shaded porch or other area which doesn't catch any direct sun for a couple weeks to acclimatize them to outdoor light. You might also want to try checking a local nursery or garden center for emergent or trailing plants like rushes (Juncus sp.), Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia) or mint. The latter two can be planted in pots coming out of the water and they will send out runners into the water which throw down dense roots, great habitat for fry. Floating plants like water lettuce (Pistia), water hyacinth (Eichhornia), frogbit (Limnobium) and others are also great for outdoor tubs, especially for providing shade in the hottest days of summer. Getting a bunch of plants going will help fish feel more secure, and will be more visible when they feel like they have multiple places to hide.
Thabks for all the info. I will have to look into those other plants
I thought Goodeids preferred cooler water temperatures?
They do fine with warmer daytime temps as long as the tubs cool down at night - it's sustained heat that's detrimental to them. Also, if a tub is deep enough the surface water can be 90F+ while the water at the bottom remains in the 70s.
Bathyphila pretty much answered it. I really keeping Xenotoca outside in the summer. They always seem to do pretty well
wow very awesome video update nice footage
Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed the under water footage. I really like filming the under water stuff as well
@@FishTankBarn thnx you so very much my friend
Great update 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very cool. Hope you get some babies. Thanks for sharing
Your welcome Mark! Looking forward to seeing the results at the end of the summer
Thanks for the update. It hit 113 today in Northern California. Fish club members were trading tips about cooling off tubs.
Wow that pretty hot. The highest this summer has been low 90s
Looking good! I really like the underwater footage. Good luck seeing lots of fry!!
Thanks. I really enjoying filming the underwater stuff as well
I have a group of 6 with a male betta. They get along great. Theyre in a 20g long
Nice.
Pěkné ryby, dávám laik 👍
Thx

You found a gem - the owner was originally partnered in another local aquaculture store, but left and started Aquatica. I don't know the reasons, but I can imagine. I no longer shop the other because of poor quality and care, but Aquatica follows quarantine procedures and sells quality only in my experience. If I ever get my guppy and swordtail strains to my liking, they will be the people selling them. Thanks for showcasing a truly quality store.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I really enjoyed my trip there.
Hello Mike. Thank you for another great video. I really enjoy how you film the fish. You actually give us enough time to look at the fish and get to see them. And not just zip through and only give us a second to see them. I know the others are just trying to give us an opportunity to see as many as possible, but what's the point? When you can't get a good look at the fish? I hope this doesn't seem harsh to you but it is what it is. I much prefer your way. Thank you and I hope you've had a great weekend 😊.
Thanks for the complements Cathy. I try not to zip through them if I can. You may not see all the fish but I do try get the best footage of the fish I shoot (FYI Fish stores are really hard to film with the glare). Thanks again for watching.
Great store and some neat tanks
Thanks Skull. I really did enjoy the store
very nice!!
Thanks Rocking Fish!
let them grow to adulthood
I might do that at some point for fun

Beautiful corals and fish 👍👍👍
Thanks I really enjoyed my time there
very nice, thanks for sharing!
Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I love saltwater tanks. I would have one .myself but I know my limitations. And I don't want to risk the lives of the fish or the corals. So I just enjoy watching other people's tanks and satisfy my itch that way.😊
Understood Cathy, glad that you enjoyed the video
Holy smokes, that place is amazing😮. It makes me want a saltwater aquarium, my wallet is already crying 😅
It was one of the most impressive places that I have been to. Glad you enjoyed the video
Fishies :D
👍
What do i do if i accidentally keep 4 swordtails in my 20 high tank, I feel a bit stupid now because i had NO idea they got that big.
You probably would be ok with just 4. You might want to move a larger group to a bigger tank
@@FishTankBarn like what size would you say? 35 gallon?
@@maricelarivera-garrison8660 I would say 29 or 40 breeder depending on how big your group is
love it
Thanks. I was really happy with what I found
My favorite are the Bluetail Blue Goodeid. I breed 100s of them.
Nice. I really enjoy them as well
Wow GREAT HAUL!!!!!!
Thanks. I was really happy with what I found.
Great video and amazing fish. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mark!
I always love the fish you bring into your fishroom. I really like the Characodon Audax El Tobosco 😍
The Audax is one of my favorites as well. Though I have struggled to breed it.
Where in Michigan? Would love to go there sometime
